Redencion 911 (band) (''Redencion Nueve Once, Redencion 9-11 or Redencion 9.11'') was a left wing hardcore punk band from Santiago, Chile. == History == Redencion 911 performed together between 1997 and 2002. Redencion 911 began in 1997 after the demise of Santiago based hardcore punk bands Octopus and SND (Sin Nombre Definido). The members of Redencion 911 had all been participants in the early Santiago Hardcore scene, Patricio (drums) played drums in the final line up of Golpe Decisivo (who some say was Chile’s first bona fide hardcore band). They were part of a small hardcore punk scene together with other contemporary bands like Silencio Abosoluto, Disturbio Menor, Alternocio, Donfango, Enfermos Terminales, Asunto and Fuerza de Voluntad.〔"Una Cuestion de Libertad" Revista Punto Final 03/01/2001 - http://www.puntofinal.cl/010302/artes.html〕 The band's name Redencion 911 is a reference to the 1973 Chilean coup d'état in which the democratically-elected government of Salvador Allende was overthrown by a U.S.- backed military Junta.〔Redencion 9-11 interview in Maximum Rock'n'Roll #224/Jan '02.〕 Throughout their existence, Redencion 911 was openly critical, both through their lyrics and commentary during concerts, of the military dictatorship and the influence of Chile's center-right and right wing political parties as well as the conservative wing of the Catholic Church. One of the more politicized of the bands within the hardcore scene, Redencion 911 was influenced by U.S. hardcore bands such as Minor Threat, Born Against, His Hero is Gone and Fugazi Redencion 9-11 played mostly in Santiago and other Chilean cities such as Valparaiso, Chillan, Concepción as well as brief tours to Argentina. Redencion 911 recorded two tape demos (on in 1997, the other in 1999), one split cassette/CD with 720 from Argentina on AMP Records (1998), a split demo cassette with Marcel Duchamp on Masapunk (2000) and a full-length CD and 7"ep through Masapunk and Amor y Lucha (Washington, DC) in 2001, this was their final recording. Before breaking up in 2002, Redencion 911 toured the East Coast of the USA in the Winter of 2001 sharing the stage with bands like 1905, Kill the Man Who Questions, Zegota (band), Del Cielo, Crispus Attucks, The Paper Chase (band), Iron Lung, and many more. After the breakup, members of Redencion 911 went on to play in Nevski, Illuminati and Birds and Wires. Redencion 911 was featured in Maximumrocknroll issues #224 Jan 2002 (interview) and #230 July 2002 (tour diary). 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Redencion 911」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
